How to place a CNC order

Step1. Account Setup

Before you start placing CNC orders with JLCCNC, it is a good idea to create an account first, as this will help you with a smoother user experience as well as file management.

Step2. Preparing Your Design Files & Getting a Quote

To get a quote for custom CNC parts on the JLCCNC platform, you only need to supply a 3D CAD file. Contemporary CNC machining systems can directly interpret a part's geometry from CAD files, potentially eliminating the need for supplementary documentation like technical drawings.

However, while technical drawings are not necessary to request a quote for CNC machining, they are still very important and widely used in manufacturing.

Especially if your design includes the following points:

1. When your design contains threads;

2. When any tolerances are specified;

3. When certain surfaces need a different finishing;

Currently, JLCCNC supports the following file formats:

3D (required): STEP (.step, .stp)

2D: pdf, dwg, dxf

Compressed files: zip, rar.

Step 3. Configuring CNC Parameters

The quotation page is where you can modify the product parameters you require, including details of quantity, materials, finishes, tolerances, and more. More information on selecting materials and surface finishes is available for your reference.

Step 4. Fulfilling Ordering Information

Step 5. Submit Your order

Here are two options for submitting your order;

1 Review Before Payment

You can pay after your file review is approved. File review is completed in 2-4 hours on working days(Mon-Sat 9 am-6 pm(GMT+8)). Your design will not be put into production until we receive payment.

2 Automatic pay with PayPal

Once your file is approved, the order amount ($100 or below) will be deducted directly from your payment account, and production will begin. Please note that amounts higher than $100 cannot be deducted automatically.

Step 6. Reviewing and Confirming Your Order

When this page appears on your screen, it means that your order was submitted successfully. And normally, you'll get an email within one hour with your quote and manufacturing analysis.

After clicking the view quote Status button and you'll see the status of your order. To ensure that your order is produced and shipped as required, we recommend that you reconfirm your order information by clicking on the order details button.

Step 7. Payment options

After confirming that your order information is correct, click the Payment button.

Currently, we mainly support the following payment methods:

Jpay/PayPal/Credit Card

Conclusion

Those are the whole process of placing CNC orders at JLCCNC.
